Meryl Chan is a visual storyteller and designer from Manila, Philippines, with a BFA in 2D Animation from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her work draws from life between the Philippines and New York - blending design, motion, and narrative to create worlds rooted in emotion and place.

Her short films Dive & Trek and Miss Illusion have received international recognition from the Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC), CTN Animation Expo, Collision Awards, ASIFA-Hollywood, and the MY HERO International Film Festival, along with a Women in Animation Scholarship Honorable Mention. She was also featured in the SVA Animation Department Highlights (2025) and named #1 in Storytelling through the SVA BFA Animation Thesis Grant (2024).

Through her work, Meryl continues to explore how storytelling can connect creativity, culture, and environmental awareness. Her films have been exhibited in New York and featured in PhilStar, BusinessMirror, and the School of Visual Arts.

When she’s not creating, she’s probably enjoying a matcha (matcha zine.)
